The Power of You : Update 1
Nov 07, 2024If you read or listened to my book (the audiobook is free!), you’ll know that in Chapter 1, I talk about the power of you and finding your purpose. That chapter only scratches the surface! I’m so grateful to God that I can share updates and new insights here on this blog without republishing the whole book each time. So, let's get started here in the Power Principles blog, I’ll let you know whenever a chapter gets a new revelation, and denote it if it is 1,2,3 update.
You Were Blessed Before the World Even Noticed You
We live in a world that constantly is telling us that, we need to do more, be more, and win more, it can feel like life is a never-ending competition for value. We measure ourselves by whether we get the promotion, whether someone notices us, or even who wins an election. But there is a deeper truth, one that shatters the illusion that our worth depends on external approval or achievements. This truth, which comes from God, is simple yet profound: you were blessed the day you were born, and in Christ, you are blessed with every spiritual blessing that heaven offers.
You Are Already Complete in Christ
When the Apostle Paul wrote, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3), he wasn’t talking about blessings that depend on external circumstances. These blessings are anchored in Christ, meaning they’re not tied to the rise and fall of human opinion or achievement. They aren’t earned or revoked based on promotions, relationships, or worldly accolades. These blessings are eternal, unchanging, and irrevocable because they are given by a God who knows you, loves you, and calls you His own.
Your Identity Is Set Apart from Earthly Success
Our world often celebrates those who “win” — the people who rise to the top, who are acknowledged, promoted, or elected. And while there is nothing wrong with aspiring to do our best, the real blessing doesn’t come from the applause or the position. The real blessing comes from knowing that you are already enough, already loved, and already seen by God.
God’s love for you doesn’t wax and wane like public opinion or personal achievement. You are a child of God, “adopted…according to the good pleasure of His will” (Ephesians 1:5), and no award, title, or human validation can add to or subtract from that identity. God has declared you to be His, and that is the greatest recognition any of us can ever receive.
When the World Tries to Crush Your Spirit, Remember Who Holds You
We all face moments when the world’s message feels crushing. When we’re overlooked, when someone else gets the promotion, when our work or effort goes unnoticed — it’s easy to feel like we’ve been cheated out of a blessing. Yet, the truth is that the blessings God has given you can’t be taken away by any human action.
When trials and disappointments come, remember what God says about you:
- You are chosen: God saw you and chose you before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
- You are redeemed and forgiven: Through the blood of Christ, you are free from any condemnation the world might try to place on you (Ephesians 1:7).
- You are sealed by the Holy Spirit: God’s presence in your life is the ultimate assurance of your worth and purpose (Ephesians 1:13).
The world can try to diminish your light, but it cannot extinguish the Spirit that lives within you. The promises of God are immovable and unchangeable. Every attempt to shake your confidence is countered by God’s truth: you are blessed, you are loved, and you are held in the highest ranking by Christ, who strengthens you.
True Blessing Is Found in Relationship with God, Not in Recognition
Jesus Himself was often overlooked, misunderstood, and rejected. He did not chase approval or seek out earthly positions of power. His security and peace came from His relationship with His Father. As followers of Christ, we are called to rest in this same relationship. Jesus promised us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27).
When we live from a place of deep, God-given peace, we can face any trial with a quiet assurance that we are held. We do not need to strive for earthly recognition to feel valuable. We can work with joy, love freely, and move forward in life without fear because we are rooted in the unchanging love of God.
You Are Blessed Beyond Measure
So, remember this truth: You were blessed the day you were born. Not with blessings that the world controls or dispenses, but with every spiritual blessing in Christ. No election result, job promotion, or worldly recognition can add to or diminish who you are in Christ.
When the noise of the world grows loud, when disappointment threatens to overwhelm, take a moment to remember the blessings that are yours eternally (not because of you but because of God's love for you):
• You are a child of God.
• You are forgiven, redeemed, and chosen.
• You are complete and whole in Christ.
• You are loved unconditionally and eternally.
These blessings define you, not the temporary achievements or failures that the world throws at you. Hold on to this truth and live in the freedom and peace that come from knowing you are, and always have been, truly and deeply blessed.
